As a tech guy, I can say that the vast majority of jobs posted are rehashed jobs listings and are posted mainly by recruiters. It's rare to see an actual company in the search results except for some of the big name brands like Home Depot or Citibank. If I could add one and only one feature to LinkedIn's job search it would be the ability to eliminate all recruiter postings. (Seriously, why does any company in tech still use recruiters?)

As an **old** guy, I can say that I have decided to delete my older job history. I've already done this for my resume but was reluctant to cut 10-15 years out of my LinkedIn work history. I wonder how much (beyond age) LinkedIn works against me. I can do backend development, data engineering and database development, and I have resumes targeted at each of those -- but I've only got the one Linkedin profile, so any prospective employer will see differences between resume and LinkedIn. And if I wanted to apply for a Product Owner position? I'm certified and have work experience, but again, LinkedIn work history is focused on development...
